WHAT WE BELIEVE

ABOUT GOD

God is the creator and ruler of the universe.  He has always existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The three are co-equal and are one God in triune relationship.

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus is the Son of God.  He is co-equal with the Father.  He is both fully God and fully man.  Jesus lived a sinless life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of every person by dying on a cross.  He rose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended and took His place at the right hand of the Father in Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and Jesus.  He is present in the world today to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives inside every Christian at the moment of salvation.  He provides power for Christian living, help understanding spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  We seek to live with His guidance and power daily.  We can be baptized or filled with the Holy Spirit, and the evidence of this is speaking with spiritual languages.  We believe as a church that it is our duty to help every believer receive all that God has for them by being filled with the Spirit, experiencing wholeness and healing, freedom from addictions,  being transformed from the inside out.

ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Holy Bible is God's way of speaking to us.  Human authors, under the supernatural inspiration of the Holy Spirit wrote it.  It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.  Because it is inspired (God-breathed), it reveals to us everything that is necessary for our faith in Him and how we can please Him with our lives.

ABOUT HUMANITY

People are made in the image of God, to be like Him in character.  Although every person has a great potential for good, our character is marred by a desire to rebel against God's way (sin).  The punishment for this rebellion has been death since the very beginning.  This leaves us in a hopeless situation that can only be solved by Jesus' sacrifice.

ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is God's free gift to us, but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or by being a good person.  Only by trusting that Christ is God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be released from sin's death penalty.  Only when we turn from our self-ruled life, repent, and allow God to be our leader in faith, can we be truly saved.  The inward evidence is the confirmation of the Holy Spirit.

ABOUT DIVINE HEALING

God's healing was provided for by Jesus' work on the cross, and God works miracles in the church today.  Our belief in God's healing power does not negate the fact that help for healing also comes through hospitals and medical professionals.

ABOUT THE CHURCH

The local church is the body of Christ on earth and is His way of reaching out to fallen humanity.  Each believer belongs to a local church to become all that God has in mind for that believer to become.  The purposes of the church are evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, worship, and ministry.  The local church operates on the obedient, generous giving of its members and adherents.  It is the storehouse spoken of in Malachi and is where believers are to bring their tithe.

ABOUT BAPTISM

Baptism by immersion is commanded in the Bible.  All who repent and receive Christ as their forgiver and leader are to be baptized.  When a believer is baptized, they declare that their old, sinful self has died, and a new life has begun.

ABOUT COMMUNION

Communion, consisting of the elements -bread and fruit of the vine- are symbols of what Jesus Christ did on the cross.  The bread represents Jesus' body that was broken for us.  The juice represents the blood of Jesus that covers our sin.  We celebrate communion once per month and remember his death until he comes again!  You do not have to be a member to take communion with us.

ABOUT ETERNITY

Jesus is coming soon!  People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God in Hell because of sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation in Heaven.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existance.  When Christ returns, the dead in Christ will rise and be joined with the living believers in the air.  Jesus will reign on earth for 1,000 years. There will be a final judgement and a new heaven and new earth.
